Sustainable activities
WeCan Creations has been an active volunteering member of various sustainable communities throughout India. We have been involved with Sahjivan Eco farms for the project 'Greening the Himalayas',Kathiababa mission society in Tripura for promotion of bamboo,Samartha Bharatha and Uttishta Bharata in Karnataka for 'Sapling Planting' and seed ball activities, rejuvenation of Cauvery river and much more.
We believe this knowledge that we have gathered and experimented with, needs to be shared and reach out to many people.
Hence we design and conduct sustainable awareness programs/workshops in schools, work spaces and for apartment communities too!
Seed ball making at Hoysala Apartments
Among the many initiatives possible to improve green cover, making and dispersing seed balls is an easy, quick and cost-effective method to reclaim the lost green cover of our environment. Seed ball is a marble-sized ball made of clay, earth, and seeds is an effective way of increasing the green cover in any region with minimal maintenance.Seed ball workshop was conducted at Hoysala Enclave as a part of a planting program where both children and adults enthusiastically learned, enjoyed and participated in seed dispersal.
Awareness on sustainable alternatives @ Hoysala Carnival
Apartment community,Hoysala Vijay Enclave consisting of 68 families with diversified culture and ethnicity, came together to celebrate CARNIVAL 2020 ! WeCan Creations did its bit by setting up a 'SUSTAINABLE ALTERNATIVES' Campaign. Hoping that each one, as a society at large will come together to make our planet plastic free and leave behind a better tomorrow for the future generations .The focus was on Eco brick, which on a household level helps contain the plastics that we generate and then compacted into plastic bottles along with soil to make it a brick, which is used in our constructions!
Plantation along Rachenahalli lake at MGIRED
This was an event where WeCan Creations was invited by MGIRED to conduct activities at Rachenahalli lake at Jakkur, which included..
*Planting on lake bunds, in order to protect the shorelines of lakes.
*Seed ball activity
40+ students from rural areas were a part of this event, who would go back to their home towns, involve themselves in increasing the green cover.
Workshop on Sustainable construction
This Indigenous knowledge in shelter making, which was practiced in India from the Vedic ages is what we explore and implement. As we see in most of the ancient human settlements, people have lived in durable, comfortable buildings made from natural materials. If we look back to how self-sustaining villages were, amazing findings can be made.
Hence,we believe architecture can expand in more dimensions other than just concrete jungles but also in something which is more close to our body and soul.
We share our learnings through our hands on experience workshops.
Stay tuned to know about our upcoming workshop!
